I had a very productive sewing session this weekend, and made a playsuit and a jumpsuit out of some lovely fabrics I had in my stash (bonus!) this made me feel slightly better about spending so much money at Fabrics Galore on Friday afternoon......
Both are ridiculously comfortable and the playsuit was a definite winner this weekend because it was BOILING in the UK for a change, and so it was perfect to keep me cool in the heat.
Here is a picture of the playsuit - sadly it is not the nicest picture because I had to ask someone else to take it for me and this was the best of an unflattering bunch....
I used Burda pattern 7552 to make both (pictures to follow of the jumpsuit in a later post) and I would definitely recommend it, the fit was fairly true to size and its very easy to make and alter the design if you want to.

hello, i have a question about this pattern. i am working on it now, and im confused about sewing the top. after you cut the pieces out, did it look extremely huge. does it get smaller after you gather it?
Yes, don't worry - it does get smaller, I had the same confusion after I cut it out - the bottoms looked massive too, it does run true to size, it all makes sense when you gather it up - just make sure you pin it or baste as you go around to ensure it gathers evenly then it should be fine.
Hello,
I really love this playsuit and i want to make one. Where did you get your fabric from please?
Hi Toyin, thanks for your comment - I'm sorry to say that the fabric was a donated piece of 80's floral print that a friend gave me, so I have no idea where it originated - Im pretty sure that you could find something modern that gives a similar look though - good luck!
Ohh thanks anyway. I was reading your blog and saw that u get your fabrics from fabrics galore. I took a trip down there yesterday and saw they had such beautiful fabrics for cheap prices. :)
I *Love* Fabrics Galore, I spend waaay too much on fabric in that place but when the prices are that good you cant help yourself can you?!
I'll bet they have some great stuff in there that you can use - and that is where I bought the pattern for this Playsuit from!
I ending up making a playsuit with my sister but we used a different pattern. It turned out well and didnt take long to make. You can see pictures at our blog:
